Glass trophies are more popular than crystal trophies in the trophy industry. This is mainly due to clear advantages in production, engraving, market demand, customer experience and international shipping.
1. Production Advantage
Glass trophies are made of common glass materials. The raw material cost is low. With modern laser cutting machines, factories can finish cutting, shaping and polishing quickly. Mass production is easy and fast, with short lead time.
Crystal trophies use high-purity optical crystal. The production steps are more complicated. They require fine polishing and light finishing work. The production cycle is much longer. Crystal also has higher processing loss and higher labor cost, so the overall production cost is far higher.
2. Engraving Advantage
Glass has even texture and suitable hardness. It supports laser engraving, sand blasting and custom patterns. All logo, text and artwork can be engraved clearly with smooth edges. The engraving effect is stable.
Almost all engraving effects available on crystal can be done on glass. For regular trophies with thickness below 20mm, glass and crystal show the same engraving quality. Only 3D inner engraving requires thick K9 crystal over 40mm, which is unnecessary for most common trophy orders.
3. Market Advantage
Most trophy orders are for school events, company awards, community activities and sports competitions. These customers need large quantity, fast delivery and budget pricing.
Glass trophies have various styles, decent appearance and affordable prices. They fit most mainstream market demands. Crystal trophies are high-end and expensive, only suitable for top-level ceremonies. They cannot meet the mass market needs, so their market coverage is much lower.
4. Customer Advantage
For most buyers, glass trophies provide perfect cost performance. They look transparent and elegant, very close to crystal in visual effect. They are lightweight, durable and not easy to scratch. For daily award use, glass trophies are more practical.
Crystal trophies are heavy, fragile and costly. Their premium quality is redundant for ordinary award scenes, which makes them less cost-effective for most customers.
5. International Shipping Advantage
Glass trophies or jade glass trophies are lighter and tougher. They effectively reduce international shipping cost. With standard export packaging, they can withstand long-distance sea and air transportation. The breakage rate is extremely low, which lowers after-sales risk.
Crystal trophies have high density and heavy weight, which increases freight cost. They are very fragile. During international transportation, they are easy to crack or chip, causing higher damage risk and unstable delivery quality.
